Onich Village By Glencoe And Loch Linnhe
Onich is a very pleasant village which stretches along the A82 between Ballachulish Bridge and Corran and is about 10 miles south of Fort William
The village - or community of Onich lies along the shore of Loch Linnhe, north of the Ballachulish Bridge on the A82 and in sight of the Glencoe mountains to the south-east. Looking south-west and west, the seascape is both open and dramatic with the mountains of Ardgour towering into the sky. There's a local walks in Onich and Inchree leaflet you can download.
Onich has a few shops and a Post Office as well as several good hotels all with great views of the surrounding countryside. Onich lies on the bus service to and from Glasgow and Skye, including the service from Edinburgh which passes through here. Here you will find the Onich Hotel, The Lodge on the Loch, The Allt nan Ros Hotel and a good selection of guesthouses and bed and breakfasts. The Four Seasons pub is very nearby at Inchree as is the self-catering Bunree Holiday Cottages
Both Glencoe in the south and Fort Wiliam and Ben Nevis to the north are generally no more than a 25 minute journey.
The Onich community enjoys a south facing aspect which looks all the way down Loch Linnhe to the Isle of Mull and beyond.
