Cedar Lodge is 3 miles from Fort William town centre, just off the A82 at Torlundy and enjoys a peaceful countryside setting in front of Ben Nevis. Schoolhouse Cottage
The flexibility of a whole cottage, with gorgeous views and brilliantly located for exploring the highlands. The Cottage The cottage is light, bright and warm with views of Loch Linnhe, Glencoe and the mountains beyond. The spacious living room has a vaulted ceiling and leads on to an open plan kitchen and dining area. The bedroom has a king-size bed with a memory foam mattress and fitted wardrobes. There is also the option to add a fold-down single bed in the living room. The whole cottage is decorated in restful, neutral colours.Surrounding the cottage are beautiful gardens with an outdoor seating area. Across the road, a path leads on to a secluded beach where you can enjoy a picnic and watch the sea life.Free Wi-Fi is provided, along with a TV/DVD player, a fully equipped kitchen and an attached laundry room. Available for a three night minimum, the cottage offers flexible accommodation for up to three people. We can provide a cot and high chair for wee ones. Dogs  are welcome at no additional charge, by prior agreement. Guest Access The cottage is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay and has its own front and back doors, ensuring private access. Interaction with Guests Chris and Sarah are the owners of the cottage and live next door in "Tigh Sgoile", which is Gaelic for "School House" and was the former village school. Living next door means that we are on hand in case you have any queries. We would also be delighted to give you recommendations about places to visit and local pubs and walks. The Neighbourhood The Onich Hotel is in walking distance and has a nice bar with an open fire. Dogs are welcome there. There are many other nice places to eat nearby including the Loch Leven hotel and the Laroch restaurant and bar in Ballachulish. For seafood, you could try the Loch Leven Seafood Café.As the Outdoor Capital of the UK, the region of Lochaber is fantastic for all kinds of outdoor activities including hiking, sailing, skiing, ice-climbing and cycling. The ski resorts of Glencoe and the Nevis ranges are about 25 minutes' drive away and are open all year round for skiers and hikers. Boat trips to visit the islands and spot wildlife depart from Loch Leven and Loch Linnhe. A thirty mile radius from the cottage takes in Ben Nevis, the mountains of Glencoe, the world's largest indoor ice-climbing wall, the Seal Sanctuary near Oban, Glenfinnan where Bonnie Prince Charlie gathered the clans in 1745 and the famous Harry Potter viaduct .... to name but a few. Getting Around School House cottage is on the bus routes from Fort William to Glasgow and Oban. It is also on the Oban to Fort William cycle path. Gairlochy Holiday Lodges
Gairlochy Holiday Lodges are situated near Spean Bridge at the south end of the Great Glen, on the B8004 between the Commando Memorial on the A82 and the Caledonian Canal. The canal is ten minutes walk and this is where you can join the Great Glen Mountain Bike Trail or the Great Glen Way. We are about 20 minutes from Fort William. Our pine lined chalets are well equipped with washing machine, fridge, full cooker, micro-wave, TV and shower. Each has two bedrooms upstairs, a double, and a twin, with linen provided. All are centrally heated with a focal point fire in the lounge area. Prices quoted are inclusive of all heating and hot water costs. Parking is available beside each chalet. Our caravan holiday homes are two bedroomed and have toilet/shower facilities, full cooker, microwave, gas fire, fridge and TV. All caravans are replaced on a regular basis with a maximum letting period of four seasons. Parking is provided beside the caravans and they have unhindered views of Ben Nevis and the Nevis Range ski development. Other park facilities include play area, payphone and launderette. Many forest tracks for walking and mountain biking, varying in distance right on your doorstep.  Aonach Mor which hosts the World Mountain Bike championships is just a direct 5 miles by mountain bike or walking from the house, this is also the local ski centre (please note no direct access by vehicle).  Should availability permit we will accept shorter breaks.  Access to the whole garden, double parking and outbuilding. The village of Spean Bridge has a golf course where clubs and trollies are available for hire.  For the more adventurous there is Active Highs where you can organise a variety of outdoor activities. The village also hosts three restaurants, local bar, grocery store, soap shop and woollen mill.   There is also a taxi service, regular bus service and a train service. Come and watch the traditional Scottish game of shinty played each Saturday and Sunday at the local pitch.  The site of the Commando Memorial is one mile north of the village with the museum situated in Spean Bridge Hotel. Ben Nevis the highest mountain in the UK is just 11 miles away near the town of Fort William, in the town you will find the Nevis Centre which has a soft play area, ten pin bowling, badminton, concerts, tennis court and occasional cinema, There are also supermarkets, the leisure centre, climbing centre and 18 hole golf course. Catch the Steam Train (Hogworts Express) from Fort William, enjoy the viaduct at Glenfinnan made famous in the Harry Potter films and experience the stunning views of the Inner Isles at your destination (please note booking is essential).  Take a boat trip down Loch Linnhe where you may see grey seals and otters.  There endless things to see and do around Lochaber.
