Glenfinnan House Hotel & Restaurant
The Glenfinnan House Hotel has an idyllic setting by Loch Eil and the Glenfinnan Monument - with excellent bar meals and quality dining
From Fort William, the village of Glenfinnan is a pleasant 20 minute drive west to Glenfinnan House Hotel which stands by the shore of Loch Shiel in sight of the monument to Bonnie Prince Charlie.
This country house hotel is a fine stone 18th century mansion dating from 1755. The original owner was Alexander MacDonald VII of Glenaladale who was wounded at Culloden as a member of the Jacobite army; the house then passed down through the family for many generations. Today Manja and Duncan Gibson are the resident managers – and extremely hospitable hosts – who will welcome you into the delightful Hall, with its log fire blazing.
Dining is something to look forward to and a pint with an imprompu ceilidh could be memorable.
On offer is excellent Highland hospitality in its cosy bar and unique dining room. Glenfinnan is one very special place for a romantic evening !
