The Great Glen Way - Fort William to Inverness

The Great Glen Way is an outdoor experience and walking holiday between Fort William and Inverness along the Caledonian Canal

The Great Glen Way begins at Fort William and takes walkers and cyclists on peaceful and scenic routes along the Caledonian Canal and hillsides of the Great Glen before reaching Inverness in the north. You can choose to walk the route, mountain bike it, or take the waterway route and sail or cruise it.

From Fort William to walk takes you through Lochyside to the village of Corpach,  then onto the canal bank which will take you past  the village of Banavie, and then on to Gairlochy and Loch Lochy.  Over the 60+ mile walk there are numerous places of historical interest with big scenery. There is a good choice of accommodation and this page shows members of the Lochaber Business Directory who provide hotel, guesthouse or bed-and-breakfast accommodation.  There is also small choice of places to eat.
