Glenuig village by Loch Ailort

Glenuig is a tiny community of just over thirty people located in the area called Moidart on the northern bounds of the Ardnamurchan peninsula.

Glenuig is a tiny community located in the area called Moidart on the northern bounds of the Ardnamurchan peninsula. The village hall is the centre of the community activity which regularly has live entertainment and community events.

Access to Glenuig by public road was only made possible in 1966, and mains electricity arrived in 1983. The pride of the village is their lovely village hall which hosts a fantastic array of events throughout the year.  The nearby Glenuig Inn offers accommodation and good food and drink as well as watersport activites. They often have a good cask ale on too !

The views across to the Small Isles of Eigg and Rum from this stretch of coast are quite simply unparalleled.  The bay is sheltered and has a good anchorage for visiting yachts. We believe there is a unique smokehouse in the village where you just might find some tasty morsels of smoked cheese and other delights.

We are in a prime location to transfer you to or from any airport, train station or ferry terminal to wherever you want to be in the Lochaber and west coast areas. Why not try our uniquely tailored whisky tours, you can sample some of our most famous malts anywhere in the north of Scotland. With our unparalleled location in Fort William on the west coast, we can transport you to a wide variety of whisky distilleries both locally and further north (or south, if you are partial to a lowland tipple!). Cloudy has been taking customers on whisky tours for a number of years and has built up a substantial rapport with many of them. From a simple tour of two or three distilleries, Cloudy’s Taxi can be booked for an entire day of sampling at any number of the Speyside distilleries. The choice is entirely up to you. West Coast Distilleries There are currently three distilleries within easy reach of Fort William. They include Oban, Ardnamurchan and Fort William’s very own Ben Nevis Distillery. These can all be packaged into a one day tour (this is to take into account the distance from Fort William to the Ardnamurchan distillery and back). Prices vary and booking is definitely essential. Speyside Drams A popular request from customers is a tour of several of the Speyside distilleries, including the Dalwhinnie and Dallas Dhu. Again, we can only make recommendations. But if you’ve come to Scotland to sample your favourite tipple, then we can arrange a tour to suit your requirements.  We are currently offering a 3 and a half hour tour featuring the following locations: A walking tour of the Old Fort remains Ben Nevis Distillery Tour Commando Memorial and the Clan Cameron Museum To book a unique Cloudy’s Whisky Tour, then contact us today on 07500 36 24 24 or email us here and let us know where you’d like to visit and we will respond with a personal quote. As you can appreciate, each tour is different and this is reflected in the price.
