Sea charters, fishing trips and Knoydart ferry
The ferry service to Knoydart is operated by Bruce Watt Sea Cruises. We visit Inverie and Tarbet in Loch Nevis, near Mallaig.
There are several sea/boat trip companies based in Mallaig and one operates the regular mail boat service to Loch Nevis and the Inverie community - Western Isles Cruises
Inverie on the Knoydart peninsula is a great place for a walking holiday - from Munro bagging to just a leisurely walk! Remote as it is, there are still great places to eat and stay. How about a day trip to Inverie ? Catch our morning ferry boat in Mallaig, cruise down Loch Nevis to Inverie and return on the afternoon boat back to Mallaig.
Tarbet on Loch Nevis is a small settlement which you can walk to from Bracara by Loch Morar. Bruce Watt Sea Cruises will take you there (or pick you up) by ferry although this is great walk through the hills from fresh-water Loch Morar - the scenery on route is terrific, although there's a hill to climb first. The views are really good.
At Glenfinnan, Loch Shiel Cruises offer daily trips down fresh water Loch Shiel where the birdlife, wildlife and scenery is well worth seeing.
Arisaig is where you can board MV Shearwater to cross over to the Small Isles and go ashore on Eigg for a trip up The Sgurr.
